Astros pitcher Justin Verlander is 2022 Box-Toppers Player of the Year.

Meanwhile Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins is Box-Toppers National League Player of the Year, Aaron Judge of the Yankees is Box-Toppers top AL batter and Pete Alonso of the Mets is Box-Toppers top NL batter.

Verlander earned 26.0 Box-Toppers points, leading all players and all AL pitchers. This is the second time Verlander has been Box-Toppers Player of the Year, he also did it in 2012 with the Tigers when he had 24.8 points. 

National League pitchers—Alcantara leads with 21.1 Box-Toppers points, third among all players. This is the first time a Marlins player has led NL pitchers or batters in season Box-Toppers points since tracking began in 1995.

American League batters—Judge led AL batters with 13.2 Box-Toppers points, 28th overall. Though Shohei Ohtani of the Angels had more Box-Toppers points (24.7, second overall), he did not qualify to rank among batters because he earned the overwhelming majority of his Player of the Game honors as a starting pitcher. Ohtani earned 19.7 of his points as a starting pitcher and 5.0 as a designated hitter.

National League batters—Alonso led NL batters with 14.9 Box-Toppers points, 20th overall. This is the first time a Mets player has led NL pitchers or batters in season Box-Toppers points since tracking began in 1995.
