Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow leads Box-Toppers weekly season player rankings report for the fourth straight week.

Meanwhile, Padres pitcher Yu Darvish rises to lead National League pitchers, Trevor Story of the Rockies rises to lead NL batters and J.D. Martinez of the Red Sox maintains his lead among American League batters.

Glasnow has 7.0 Box-Toppers points in 2021, earning no points in the past week, maintaining his lead among all players and among AL pitchers, ahead of Gerrit Cole of the Yankees (7.0), who ranks second overall.

American League batters—J.D. Martinez of the Red Sox leads for the fourth week with 6.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.5 points in the past week. He rises from seventh place overall last week to third this week. He ranks ahead of second-place AL batter Matt Olson of the Athletics (3.5 points).

National League pitchers—Yu Darvish rises to the lead with 5.7 Box-Toppers points, fifth place overall. He passes last week’s NL pitching leader Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers, who falls to second with 5.4 points.

National League batters—Trevor Story of the Rockies rises to the lead with 3.2 Box-Toppers points, passing last week’s leader, Gregory Polanco of the Pirates, who falls to fifth place with 2.5 points. Story ranks ahead of second-place NL batter Nick Castellanos of the Reds (3.0 points). Story is 30th among all players in Box-Toppers season player rankings.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
