Phillies lead
Phillies players have accumulated 36.5 Box-Toppers points so far this season, picking up 6.5 points in the past week, maintaining their overall lead ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers (31.2 points), also leading NL teams ahead of the Dodgers.
The Phillies have baseball’s best winning percentage (.684) and rise to first place in the NL East Division, passing and moving two games ahead of the Braves (.647 winning percentage). The Braves fall from fourth to seventh place overall in Box-Toppers team rankings with 26.4 points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week.
The Phillies are led by pitchers Zack Wheeler (6.7 points, third overall and third among NL pitchers) and Ranger Suarez (6.7 points, fourth overall and fourth among NL pitchers). Phillies top batter is Bryce Harper (3.2 points, third among NL batters). Twelve different Phillies players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Orioles lead AL teams
The Baltimore Orioles rise to first place among AL teams in Box-Toppers rankings with 29.9 points, picking up 5.7 in the past week, moving from fifth to third place overall. They pass last week’s AL team leader, the Kansas City Royals, who fall from second to fourth overall with 29.6 points, picking up 4.5 in the past week. The Royals fall to second among AL teams.
The Orioles have the AL’s best winning percentage (.667), tied for the second-best in baseball, behind the Phillies (.684) and tied with the Dodgers (.667).
The Orioles are led by pitcher Dean Kremer (4.0 points, 25th overall and 11th among AL pitchers). Orioles top batter is Gunnar Henderson (2.5 points, sixth among AL batters). Sixteen different Orioles players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Hottest team: Twins
The Minnesota Twins are the week’s hottest team, picking up 7.4 points in the past week, most of any team, rising from 16th to eighth in team rankings with 26.1 points, fifth among AL teams. Their eight-spot climb was the biggest jump among all teams, making it the second straight week the Twins have had the biggest rise in rankings. Last week, they jumped six spots from 22nd to 16th.
Biggest fall: Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox had the biggest decline in rankings, falling eight spots from sixth to 14th with 24.2 points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week.
Last place: Marlins
The Miami Marlins fall from 28th to 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings with 11.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week. The Colorado Rockies, the lowest-ranked team last week, rise to 29th place this week with 11.9 points, picking up 3.7 points in the past week.
