Phillies lead
Phillies players have accumulated 30.0 Box-Toppers points so far this season, picking up 6.2 points in the past week (most among National League teams), maintaining their overall lead ahead of the second-place Royals (25.1 points) and leading NL teams ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers (24.7 points).
The Phillies have a winning percentage of .656, second-best in baseball behind the Atlanta Braves, who have baseball’s best winning percentage (.690) and lead the Phillies in the NL East Division by half a game. The Braves fall from third place last week to fourth place this week in Box-Toppers team rankings with 24.4 points, picking up 3.7 in the past week
The Phillies are led by pitcher Ranger Suarez (6.7 points, first overall). Phillies top batter is Bryce Harper (1.7 points, 17th among NL batters). Eleven different Phillies players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Royals lead AL teams
Royals players have accumulated 25.1 Box-Toppers points, picking up 4.7 points in the past week, rising from fourth overall last week to second this week. The Royals pass last week’s AL team leader, the Cleveland Guardians (23.2 points, 2.0 points in the past week), who fall from second to eighth overall and fifth among AL teams.
The Royals have the AL’s third-best winning percentage (.594) behind the Guardians (.645) and the Baltimore Orioles (.645). The Orioles are fifth in team rankings with 24.2 points, picking up 4.0 in the past week. The Royals are second in the AL Central Division, 1.5 games behind the Guardians.
The Royals are led by pitcher Seth Lugo (5.4 points, fifth overall and second among AL pitchers). Royals top batter is Bobby Witt Jr. (1.7 points, 11th among AL batters). Fourteen different Royals players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Hottest team: Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are the week’s hottest team, picking up 6.7 points in the past week, most of any team, rising from 14th to ninth in team rankings with 22.9 points, sixth among AL teams.
Biggest rise: Twins
The Minnesota Twins made the biggest jump in Box-Toppers team rankings, rising six spots from 22nd overall to 16th with 18.7 points, picking up 6.5 in the past week.
Biggest fall: Guardians, Padres
The Cleveland Guardians and San Diego Padres each fell six spots in team rankings in the past week, tied for the biggest decline among all teams:
The Guardians fell from second to eighth place with 23.2 points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week.
The Padres fell from ninth to 15th place with 19.4 points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week.
Last place: Rockies
The Colorado Rockies fall from 28th to 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings with 8.2 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. The Chicago White Sox, the lowest-ranked team for the past two weeks, rise to 29th place this week with 8.5 points, picking up 4.5 points in the past week.
