Phillies lead
Phillies players have accumulated 51.9 Box-Toppers points so far this season, picking up 3.2 points in the past week. Their lead over the second-place Yankees (47.7 points) has narrowed from 7.0 points last week to 4.2 points this week. The Phillies lead National League teams ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers (sixth place overall with 40.9 points).
The Phillies have baseball’s best winning percentage (.684) and are led by pitcher Ranger Suarez (9.4 points, third overall and second among NL pitchers). Phillies top batter is Bryson Stott (4.5 points, fourth among NL batters). Fourteen different Phillies players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Yankees lead AL teams
The New York Yankees lead AL teams in Box-Toppers rankings for the third straight week with 47.7 points, picking up 6.0 in the past week, holding steady in second place overall.
They rank ahead of the second-place AL team, the Kansas City Royals (third place overall with 44.1 points).
The Yankees have the AL’s best winning percentage (.672), second-best in baseball, behind the Phillies (.684).
The Yankees are led by pitcher Luis Gil (11.7 points, first overall). Yankees top batter is Juan Soto (5.5 points, first among AL batters). Fifteen different Yankees players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Hottest team: Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers are the week’s hottest team, picking up 7.2 points in the past week, most of any team, rising from 12th to ninth in team rankings with 38.4 points.
The Brewers won five of their seven games this week.
Biggest jump: Nationals
The Washington Nationals made the biggest jump in team rankings this week, rising six spots from 22nd to 16th place overall with 31.4 points, picking up 5.0 in the past week.
Biggest fall: Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks had the biggest decline in rankings, falling four spots from 20th to 24th with 27.6 points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week.
Last place: White Sox
The Chicago White Sox fall from 28th to 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings this week with 19.6 Box-Toppers points, picking up no points in the past week. Last week’s lowest ranked team, the Miami Marlins, rise to 28th place with 22.5 points, picking up 4.0 in the past week.
