Pirates pitcher Ivan Nova is Sunday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Nova struck out seven over seven innings, allowing one run and four hits, in the 2-1 win over the Yankees.

American League Player of the Day—Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez struck out seven over six scoreless innings, allowing one hit, in the 6-2 win over the Orioles.

American League Batter of the Day—John Hicks of the Tigers homered and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in five runs, in the 13-4 win over the Twins.

Orioles' Jimenez tops players for Friday, May 2; Tulowitzki takes lead in Box-Toppers player rankings

Orioles pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez is Friday’s Player of the Day, while Troy Tulowitzki of the Rockies takes the lead in season Box-Toppers player rankings.

Jimenez pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out 10 in the 3-0 win over the Twins.

Tulowitzki now has more Box-Toppers points than any other player this season after earning National League Batter of the Day honors Friday. Tulowitzki went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs in the 10-3 win over the Mets. He earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 7.4 for the season. Rays' Matt Moore, Reds' Bronson Arroyo top players for Monday, July 22

Rays pitcher Matt Moore is Monday's Player of the Day and rises to second place among players in Box-Toppers points for the season.

Moore pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout in the 3-0 win over the Red Sox. Mariners pitcher Joe Saunders is American League Player of the Day. Saunders allowed only one run over 6 1/3 innings in the 4-2 win over the White Sox. 

Mark Teixeira of the Yankees is AL Batter of the Day. Teixeira hit a grand slam in the 7-4 win over the Indians.
