Also Sunday, Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu rises to seventh place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning National League Player of the Day honors.

Player of the Day—Minor struck out 11 over eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, in the 1-0 win over the Brewers.

Minor earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 12.7 for the season, 12th among all players and sixth among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day—Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu struck out four over seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk, in the 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Ryu earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 15.4 for the season, rising from eighth to seventh in season player rankings, third among NL pitchers, behind Josh Hader of the Brewers (15.7) and Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals (15.7).

Ryu becomes the seventh player this season to reach 15 Box-Toppers points. It is his first season with 15 or more points. His best previous season was 2014 with the Dodgers, when he had 11.4 Box-Toppers points, 15th among NL pitchers.

American League Batter of the Day—Jorge Soler of the Royals hit two home runs, doubled and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in five runs, in the 10-2 win over the Tigers.

National League Batter of the Day—Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals homered and went 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in five runs, in the 11-9 win over the Pirates.

Debut—Cubs pitcher Rowan Wick made his Box-Toppers Sunday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
