Verlander earned 82.0 Box-Toppers points over 2016-2021, second-most among AL pitchers behind Cole’s 122.9. Verlander did not pitch in 2021 after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2020.
But Verlander ranked fifth in points over the past six years by having large point totals in four of the previous five years:
2016—14.7 (with Tigers), 12th overall, fourth among AL pitchers.
2017—14.7 (with Tigers and Astros), 16th overall, sixth among AL pitchers.
2018—24.1 (with Astros), third overall, second among AL pitchers.

However, he did not earn Player of the Game honors in any of those starts.

Jose Ramirez of the Indians is the top-ranked batter over the past two seasons with 16.5 Box-Toppers points over 2020-2021, 26th-most among all players in that span. Ramirez led all batters in 2021 with 13.0 Box-Toppers points. He ranks 66th among all players over the past six seasons with 35.5 Box-Toppers points over 2016-2021, 10th among all batters.
Nolan Arenado of the Cardinals is the top-ranked batter over the past six seasons with 43.9 Box-Toppers points over 2016-2021, 36th among all players in that span.
