Giants pitcher Alex Wood is Sunday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Sunday, Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara rises to fourth in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. He also rises to first place among National League pitchers.

Plus, Royals pitcher Zack Greinke rises back to fifth place on Box-Toppers’ “all-time” career points list, a spot he lost when he was passed by Astros pitcher Justin Verlander less than two weeks ago.

Player of the Day—Wood struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 12-0 win over the Padres.
