Cubs pitcher Ben Brown is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Tuesday, Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. In addition, Corey Seager of the Rangers has now earned Box-Toppers points in 10 straight seasons.

Player of the Day

Brown struck out 10 over seven scoreless, hitless innings, allowing two walks, in the 6-3, 10-inning win over the Brewers.

Brown exited after 93 pitches without allowing a hit. But Cubs reliever Hayden Wesneski gave up a single with one out in the eighth inning, breaking up the no-hitter.

Brown did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Brewers tied the game after he exited.

Brown earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 31st among all players and 16th among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day is Athletics pitcher Mitch Spence.

American League Player of the Day

Athletics pitcher Mitch Spence struck out four over 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, in the 3-0 win over the Rays.

Spence earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, 36th among AL pitchers.

American League Batter of the Day is Josh Naylor of the Guardians.

American League Batter of the Day

Josh Naylor of the Guardians hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, in the 13-7 win over the Rockies. Naylor went 2-for-4, scoring three times and driving in five runs.

Naylor earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 4.5 for the season, second among AL batters, behind Juan Soto of the Yankees (4.5). Though Soto and Naylor both have 4.5 points on the season, Soto ranks higher because he has more 2023 points—9.0 vs. 7.0.

National League Batter of the Day

There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Tuesday because no NL batter earned Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed.

Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday.

Glasnow (7IP 2H 2R 4BB 8K ND in the 5-2, 10-inning win over the Mets) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.0 for the season. He ranks sixth among NL pitchers.

Streak

Corey Seager of the Rangers has now earned Box-Toppers points in 10 straight seasons after earning his first Player of the Game honor of 2024 Tuesday.

Seager (HR 1-3 R 3BI in the 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks) earned his first Box-Toppers points in 2015 with the Dodgers and now has 29.7 career points, second among active AL shortstops, behind Carlos Correa of the Twins (37.9).
