Phillies lead
Phillies players have accumulated 75.5 Box-Toppers points this season, picking up 6.2 points in the past week. They lead over the second-place Orioles (69.9 points) by 5.6 points. The Phillies lead National League teams ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers (fourth place overall with 64.5 points).
The Phillies have baseball’s best winning percentage (.655) and are led by pitcher Zack Wheeler (10.7 points, fifth overall and second among NL pitchers). Phillies top batter is Bryce Harper (6.7 points, second among NL batters). Nineteen different Phillies players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Orioles lead AL teams
The Baltimore Orioles lead American League teams for the second week with 69.9 Box-Toppers points, picking up 6.0 in the past week.
They lead over the second-ranked AL team, the New York Yankees (66.1 points, third overall). The Orioles have the second-best winning percentage among AL teams (.632) behind the Cleveland Guardians (.635), who are sixth in Box-Toppers team rankings with 62.1 points.
The Orioles are led by pitcher Corbin Burnes (7.7 points, 29th overall and 13th among AL pitchers). Orioles top batter is Ryan Mountcastle (5.0 points, fifth among AL batters). Twenty-six different Orioles players have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2024.
Hottest team: Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers are the week’s hottest team, picking up 6.7 points in the past week, most among all teams, rising from seventh to fifth place in season player rankings with 62.5 points.
The Brewers picked up 4.7 of their points this week winning four of their seven games (including Freddy Peralta earning 1.7 points as NL Player of the Day on June 30). They picked up the other 2.0 points this week by acquiring pitcher Aaron Civale, who had earned 2.0 points this season with the Rays.
Biggest jump: Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks rise three spots in Box-Toppers team rankings this week, the biggest jump among all teams, from 22nd to 19th place with 48.1 points, picking up 5.5 in the past week.
Biggest fall: Tigers and Cubs
The Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs each slipped two spots in team rankings, tied for the biggest drop among all teams.
The Tigers fell from 18th to 20th place with 47.8 points, picking up 2.5 points in the past week. The Cubs fell from 21st to 23rd place with 45.4 points, picking up 2.5 points in the past week.
Last place: White Sox
The Chicago White Sox remain in 30th and last place for the sixth week with 30.1 Box-Toppers points, picking up 3.0 points in the past week.
