Rays’ Bradley tops players for Tuesday, June 24; Tigers’ Greene extends AL batting lead

Rays pitcher Taj Bradley is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Tuesday, Riley Greene of the Tigers extends his lead among American League batters in 2025 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors. Other Player of the Game winners Tuesday include Diamondbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson, George Springer of the Blue Jays and Joey Ortiz of the Brewers.

Player of the Day

Bradley struck out four over 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 5-1 win over the Royals.

Bradley earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 51st among all players and 21st among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day

Diamondbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson struck out seven over five innings, allowing one run, one hit and three walks, in the 4-1 win over the White Sox. Nelson did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the score was tied, 1-1, when he exited.

Nelson earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 4.7 for the season, 28th among NL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Diamondbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson.

American League Batter of the Day

George Springer of the Blue Jays hit a grand slam and went 3-for-5, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 10-6 win over the Guardians.

Springer earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.5 for the season, 43rd among all players and third among AL batters behind Riley Greene of the Tigers (7.5 points) and Wilyer Abreu of the Red Sox (6.0 points).

American League Batter of the Day is George Springer of the Blue Jays.

National League Batter of the Day

Joey Ortiz of the Brewers hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 9-3 win over the Pirates.

Ortiz recorded a +4.0 Box-Toppers game score Tuesday, same as another NL batter who won Player of the Game honors, Masyn Winn of the Cardinals (HR 2B 2-4 2R 4BI in the 8-7 win over the Cubs). But Ortiz beat Winn to earn NL Batter of the Day honors on a tiebreaker because he hit more home runs in his game—two vs. one.

National League Batter of the Day is Joey Ortiz of the Brewers.

Greene (2B 4-5 2R 2BI in the 11-4 win over the Athletics) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.5 for the season, 21st among all players and first among AL batters ahead of second-place Wilyer Abreu of the Red Sox (6.0 points).
