Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to ninth place in season player rankings.

Miller struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 2-1, 10-inning win over the White Sox. Miller did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the White Sox tied the game after he exited.

Miller earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.7 for the season, ninth among all players and fifth among American League pitchers.

Miller is one of four players with 8.7 Box-Toppers points in 2024 and ranks second among them based on his 2023 point total. Mariners pitcher George Kirby ranks first among the 8.7-point players with 13.7 points in 2023, Miller is second (13.1 in 2023), followed by Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola (12.0) and Padres pitcher Dylan Cease (10.0).

Cardinals pitcher Sonny Gray struck out nine over seven innings, allowing one run, four hits and one walk, in the 4-2 win over the Pirates.

Gray earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 7.4 for the season, 19th among all players and ninth among NL pitchers.
