Royals pitcher Cole Ragans is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Also Monday, Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee rises to second place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. In addition, Bryce Harper of the Phillies rises to lead National League batters in 2024 Box-Toppers points after earning NL Batter of the Day honors.
Player of the Day
Ragans struck out 11 over six innings, allowing one run, four hits and three walks, in the 4-1 win over the Marlins.
Ragans earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 7.0 for the season, 31st among all players and 15th among American League pitchers.
National League Player of the Day
Giants pitcher Spencer Howard struck out eight over 4 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, in the 5-4 win over the Cubs.
Howard served as an extended closer in the game, pitching the final 4 2/3 innings and earning the win, with the Giants taking the lead in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Howard earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 63rd among NL pitchers.
National League Batter of the Day
Bryce Harper of the Phillies hit a three-run homer and two doubles in the 8-1 win over the Tigers. Harper went 3-for-5, scoring three times and driving in five runs.
Harper earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, rising to first place among NL batters, passing previous leader Francisco Lindor of the Mets (6.4 points). Harper ranks 35th among all players.
