The Los Angeles Dodgers are Box-Toppers’ top-ranked team going into 2025 but with player injuries factored in, the New York Mets hold the overall edge.
The current 2025 roster of last year’s World Series champion Dodgers accumulated 118.7 Box-Toppers points in 2024, most of any team. However, with several players injured and expected to miss time in 2025, their injury-adjusted Box-Toppers point total drops to 106.7, fifth among all teams.

The New York Yankees and New York Mets lead Box-Toppers offseason rankings after landing the winter’s two biggest free agents.
The Yankees rank first after Carlos Rodon Thursday agreed to a free agent deal. Rodon earned 19.8 Box-Toppers points in 2022 with the Giants, sixth overall and third among National League pitchers. He ranked second among all free agents going into the 2023 season.

Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke struck out eight over seven innings, allowing two runs and five hits.
During the regular season, Greinke had 20.7 Box-Toppers points, seventh among all players, fifth among NL pitchers.
The best-of-five game series is now tied 1-1 and resumes Monday in New York.
Cubs pitcher Travis Wood pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless middle relief, allowing one hit and striking out two, picking up the win.
During the regular season, Wood had 3.0 Box-Toppers points, ranking 313th among all players and 82nd among NL pitchers.
The best-of-five game series is now tied 1-1 and resumes Monday in Chicago.

Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer, Monday’s Player of the Day, rises to third place in Box-Toppers player rankings, while Troy Tulowitzki of the Rockies increased his lead among players in Box-Toppers points.

Scherzer now leads among all American League players in Box-Toppers points. He passes previous AL leader Chris Colabello of the Twins (5.2) and previous AL pitching leader Martin Perez of the Rangers (5.0). In 2013, Scherzer led all AL players with 18.1 Box-Toppers points.
Tulowitzki increased his season lead in Box-Toppers points after earning National League Player of the Day honors Monday. Tulowitzki homered twice and went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs in the 8-2 win over the Rangers.
Tulowitzki earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 9.1 for the season. In a little over a week, Tulowitzki has earned Player of the Game honors four times, each time earning bonus points for either being NL Player or Batter of the Day. Tulowitzki has already more than doubled his Box-Toppers points total for 2013 (4.0). Just over a month into the season, he already has his second-highest Box-Toppers point total for a season—his highest point total was 11.5 in 2011.
There is no American League Batter of the Day for Monday because no AL batter earned Player of the Game honors.
Scherzer receives 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day. Tulowitzki receives 1.7 for NL Player of the Day.
